CHANGING THE CULTURE FOR FIRST RESPONDERS
Culture Shock: The feeling of disorientation experienced by someone who is suddenly subjected to an unfamiliar culture, way of life, or set of attitudes.
A police officer from NY lost 5 pounds and felt better then ever in the first week!
A female officer from Wisconsin said that just after 2 weeks of the CSC she had to tighten her duy belt!
ARE YOU READY TO SURVIVE THE JOB- ON DUTY AND OFF?
you start the job…
being in the best shape of your life.
You work out every day (whether you want to or not… thank you academy).
You drink a ton of water to get through your academy classes.
You get good sleep because you aren’t yet working shift work.
….you are overall quite happy and feeling good!
And then you work the job for 2 years and everything starts going to shit.
You get ordered in and held over.
You are so busy trying to work and sleep that you don’t have time to workout anymore…
Did you know that if you are sleep deprived, your body starts burning your muscles instead of fat?
And meal prep? Ya… right! Who has time for that? Not you.
And all of this doesn’t account for the stressful calls that turn into people fighting you, death scenes you thought only appeared in movies and crashes that do things to body parts you couldn’t have ever dreamed up… which of course you don’t really talk about.
But your body feels this stress and your mind holds onto it.
Enter: The Hypervigilance Roller Coaster
This turns you into what they told you to be aware of in the academy.
This is what they told you not to become. But they didn’t teach you how to overcome it.
And this is why I created the Culture Shock Challenge… to challenge you to change your habits and show you how doing things slightly differently while working the job, will actually preserve your body and mind instead of ruin it.
I was handed the book “Emotional Survival in Law Enforcement” (great book btw) and sent on my way…
to work 60+ hour work weeksTo sleep like shit because I worked all different shifts.
To live on caffeine to stay awake.
To workout only when I could… and not make it a priority.
…. And honestly- I was trained to put myself last.
Herein lies the problem –
IF WE AS FIRST RESPONDERS DO NOT TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES… WHO WILL BE AROUND TO TAKE CARE OF THE PUBLIC AS WE FALL APART?
Because we will fall apart… it’s inevitable.
You cannot pour from an empty cup, Sheepdog… you must fill your cup up, even as a first responder.
I learned the hard way and suffered a career ending injury, was diagnosed with PTSD and an anxiety disorder. I didn’t fill my cup up, no one taught me how to counteract hypervigilance or what to do to make sure I was on my best game at work.
So I am going to do that for you.
But like I said- this is a challenge.
I never said it would be easy- but this can be life changing for you if you go all in.
Hell it’s only 14 days. You can do anything for 14 days.
Plus, this was specifically designed for first responders (spouses should do this too!).
All you have to do is commit. That’s it. Show up and do the work for the next 14 days and reep the results.
The challenge is as follows:
30 MIN WORKOUT
complete a minimum of a 30 min workout at the END of shift or day, HIIT is prefered
WARM LEMON WATER
drink 1 cup of warm lemon water when you first wake up
MEDITATE DAILY
meditate (box breathe) daily with a goal of 20 mins
04
1 hr personal development
listen to personal development content (audio books, podcasts, or videos) for 1 hour a day (during shift counts)
05
sleep 56 hr a week
get quality sleep for 56 hours a week
06
4 meals preped
meal prep at least 4 meals a week

If you are ready to FEEL better almost immediately…
Want to actually survive the job…
And even actually help your coworkers to do the same…
This is for you!
Sign up here and you’ll receive emails from me for 14 days guiding you through this challenge and changing your life… one day at a time.
don’t believe me?
This dispatcher who did the challenge said “Holy shit guys! I’m down 8 lbs!! That’s 8 lbs since we started this challange… so not even a month!! My Pants are too big (still in between sizes lol so can’t go down a size) but I’m down 8 lbs… If not more cuz of clothes and stuff! And I haven’t really changed my diet a bunch other than trying to eat out a lot less.. fuck yeah!! And I have a massive sweet tooth lol!”
A probation officer began drinking lemon water before his coffee and said his mind and body felt clearer!
